you could also try 4115 but i couldn't get this to work. I find the older version xvid4psp 4114 to be much better and more user friendly it has the same encoder options and you don't have to extract the subs beforehand, as soon as you open the mkv file you get all the options to do anything you what (file output, bitrate, codec format etc) I would recommended you try this version, you can download it via the link on this site just click here xvid4psp and select old versions and you'll get a list. I first tried xvid4psp 5.0 and like yourself found the task of extracting the subs, importing and hardcoding them time consuming and left me with undesirable results.
